IIUI Schools Homework Policy
Homework is defined as assigned learning activities completed outside the classroom/school time by the students independently (preferably) or with limited support. AT IIUI Schools, homework should be used to practice, reinforce, or apply acquired skills and knowledge.
Homework is an integral part of learning which serves to develop sense of responsibility, self-discipline, concentration and lifelong learning habits in students. In IIUI Schools, we believe that homework not only gives students opportunities for practising, extending and consolidating work done in class but also trains them in planning, organising time and identifying and using information resources. It gives parents insights into teaching and learning in the classroom and progress of their students. Parents play a supportive role through monitoring, completion of assignments, encouraging students’ efforts and providing conducive environment for learning. Teachers must assign relevant, challenging and meaningful homework assignments that reinforce classroom learning objectives.
